About the Founder

Hi! I'm Jodi, and The Renewal exists because of a season I didn't choose and couldn't control.

A few years ago, circumstances outside my power stripped away every illusion I had that I could hold my own life together through effort. I did everything I knew how to do, and it still wasn't enough. What I discovered underneath wasn't a discipline problem. It was an identity problem. I was living in self-reliance, like an orphan who had to secure her own provision, rather than a daughter who already had a Father who provides.

Here's what I've come to believe: the specific circumstances were never really the point. God will use whatever season a person is in, financial, relational, physical, to do the same deeper work: testing faith, refining identity, and deepening trust and dependence on Him. Not because He's withholding something until we perform our way into deserving it, but because He's a loving Father who wants us to walk in fruitfulness beyond anything we could currently imagine, and that kind of fruitfulness requires a level of intimacy and trust most of us have never actually practiced.

That's the process The Renewal is built to walk you through. Not settling for what you think you want. Not gritting through until circumstances improve. Learning to lean into what God is already doing, cooperating with His work in you from a settled identity instead of a scrambling one, until what you believe about Him and how you actually live finally line up.

The Renewal moves through Six Rhythms: Identity in Christ, Forgiveness, Repentance, Stewardship, Fruitfulness, and Testimony, carried by Three Movements: Removing Hindrances, Expanding Faith, and Faith in Action. You cycle through them again and again, at deeper levels, as life brings new things to the surface. Each workshop pairs a Scripture focus with guided journaling to apply the lesson to your specific current struggle, and prayer. It isn't information to collect. It's a practice to actually live.

I'm still walking this out myself, learning what it means to trust Him that fully, one rhythm at a time.
